Pajama People, Shoes (from the album After The Gold Rugs)
Pajama People have a new album up at Bandcamp called “After The Gold Rugs” that is definitely worth a listen and a download and well more listens! Two tracks in particular have just hooked lined and sinker-ed me like no other (but let me just clarify the whole album is great) and I had trouble deciding which one to post. Relieved is a stellar track on it with a very Au Revoir Simone meets Beach House feel and then there’s Shoes which is basically gonna be loved by all Cults fans. It’s just that swoon worthy and damn adorable! So I went with Shoes. Basically Pajama People delight socks off like it’s their job. Seriously check these guys out!
Neon Indian, Fallout (from the album Era Extrana)
Fuck yes new music from Alan Palomo aka Neon Indian! I remember hearing “Deadbeat Summer” way back when, that was my first introduction to Mr. Palomo and just thinking holy fuck of all fucks is this man talented. And my opinion is not changing at all. Era Extrana doesn’t drop until 9/13 but really if “Fallout” is any indication of what to expect from the whole album we are in for some fucking great times ahead. I need this album in front of me like now.

“Call it Off” by Washed Out // Within and Without (Bonus Track Version)
Searching Soundcloud for some B-sides paid off with this spectacular bonus track from the latest Washed Out release. It’s a little more beat heavy than a lot of his lighter than air compositions, but it’s a stunner all the same. In fact it immediately reminded me of some film score leftover from an imagined Michael Mann crime drama from the mid-80’s. That may sound slightly off, but seriously - it has that menacing, but beautiful sound of those synth heavy soundtracks of that era. This is a killer track. I can’t believe it didn’t make the full album.
no modest bear puts out a summer mix. relaxploitation.

Adam Taylor Young - Young and Dumb
You’re gonna wanna check out this raw talent from Allston, Massachusetts. Also known as Adam “Effing” Young, dude’s got songwriting talent out the wazoo (saying so makes me sound like my mother, but I digress). These are pop songs with heart and catchiness. Originally, he sent me his new track “Worse Things” - also great - but I caught onto “Young and Dumb” - that title! - and fell in love. You will, too.
